Happy Monday everyone! I hope that your weekends were all that you’d hope they would be. So, tomorrow marks the first of many new things to come for OCFH. I have spent a lot of time brainstorming different ways to improve Oh CHIC Fancy Huh so that all of my Chic Fancy readers can have a more enjoyable and informational experience on your visits.
Have you ever had that one friend or style blogger crush that makes any outfit look effortless and chic and all you want to say is, “Girl, spill the beans, How’d you put that together?” I know I have!
“How’d you put that together?” is a new weekly series that will feature other style bloggers and stylish individuals who will explain how they put a certain look together. This new series will be a way for you all to have access to various style inspirations to pull from when cultivating and improving your own personal style.
I have a great line up of amazing blogger babes that will be featured, so stay tuned! The very first “How’d you put that together” feature goes live in less than 24 hours! 🙂
The true test of a styleista is having the ability to acknowledge a trend, rock it (if it appeals to your style) and at the same time be aware of what is to come next. The worst thing you could do is be left with a closet full of trendy items that have fallen out of style.
Trends are thrown at us in hopes that we will accept them, love them, purchase them. When a trend hits streets successfully it blows up and over saturates the market with high-end and lower end choices.
Take for example the platform shoe. This trend has been going strong for some time now, any and everywhere you go there is no shortage of platform pumps, sandals and booties. I love this trend, platforms are stylish and most importantly comfy! I say, if you can add a pair or two of platform shoes to your collection, go for it, but remember not to take it over board. Make sure to have an array of different styles at your disposal.
Currently, I am seeing a shift in the shoe trend. The platform, yet still there with vengeance, is being chopped away to reveal a less chunky approach to shoe design. Some may think of this style as matronly or boring but when approached with modern accents and colors th designs shoe off a classic twist.
Classic design always needs to be a staple in your wardrobe. When looking to modernize a classic shoe, look for designs that mimics the current trend in a subtle way so that the shoe can live on from season to season.

So at the beginning of the spring season I told you all that I was going to be incorporating white hues into my spring wardrobe. Well here is a look that falls in that category while showing of a little bit of skin.
When going for a monotone look, such as wearing all white, it is important to pay close attention to fabrics, various hues and textures to avoid looking totally one-dimensional. The skirt I’m wearing is apart of a suit combo, but I really admired the sort of rustic feel of the fabric. It reminded me of a chic rug 🙂 I used this to my advantage and styled it in a way that would complement the sophistication of the skirt being a part of a suit and at the same time make it appear dressed down enough for a warm spring day.
This look gives off a very sleek tribal feel that I love! You can totally see me in a staged Congo movie scene, right! 🙂 Any who, I wanted to bring in the neon sandal for a quick pop of color. Neon is all of the rage right now so I think that this was a great way to incorporate it into my look. When it comes to accessories I have always been a minimalist. A necklace here, some cute earrings there. Most of the time I am rocking a pair of pearl studs and a watch lol. For this look I kept the watch and switched out my pearls for a cool pair of vintage earrings. The unique design of them caught my eye. They reminded me of a piece that could be found in an African village, which went great with the sort of tribal sleek feel I was going for.
What I am Wearing:
Skirt: White House Black Market (old)
Earrings: Bought at a local vintage shop
Thank you for stopping by, I hope that you all enjoyed the look! Talk to you soon!
Happy Monday my beautiful readers! I hope that every one enjoyed their weekends and Easter Sunday.
When I saw this dress it reminded me of the roaring twenties, the era of the flapper. Women rebelled against what was the norm. They changed their hair, their wardrobe, their mindset and started a new. Sort of like a change in season. When a new season starts it is always a great time to reflect and renew your appearance and goals both inside and out.
Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays. It signifies the day that we were all given a new life and a second chance to become the amazing people God wants us to be. How wonderful is that! It is also the day I use to mark the official start of the spring season and to welcome the new blooming flowers, sunshine and a new wardrobe!
My Easter look was inspired by the sign of new life and joy. Fun, colorful and free-flowing.
What I am Wearing:
Dress: Lauren Conrad (Kohls)
Shoes: Vince Camuto (old)
Necklace: Not sure (old)
Thanks for stopping by!
Peace Love Style,
P.S. I changed my signature to, Peace Love Style because when I first started my blog it was meant to inspire personal style. I think that the tiny provision means a lot to the direction in which I am taking my blog. Stay tuned!:)
Easter is quickly creeping up on us and yesterday I was reminded of that by one of my readers. So with that being said lets jump right into it because time is quickly running out.
Easter has always been the official day of spring for me. It marks the change in the season, attitudes and wardrobe. To totally NAIL your Easter look just think COLOR, FLORAL and SPRINGTIME! Let these three things inspire your choices, you should look like a sunny day in the park 🙂 Here are a few options to help you bring it all together:
Option #1: A Bold Mix
You can find a floral print almost anywhere this season. Take your floral piece and mix it with and unexpected pairing. I am currently head over heels for a great snake print and trust me, mixing the two will be AHMAZING when executed confidently.
Option #2: Kick of Color
When in doubt go back to the good old color blocking trend. Take spring colors such as pastels and bold saturated hues. You can also add a hint of interest by breaking up the kick of color with a muted design as I did with the floral lace.
I hope that these options help to inspire your Easter Sunday looks! If you have any question shoot me an email or leave a comment below. Let know what you all come up with. I would love to see! Happy Easter everyone, enjoy your weekend!

A few weeks ago I took to the streets to do a little vintage hunting and found some really great pieces. I love shopping vintage because you can find one of a kind items that can be molded into something you love with a little bit of inspiration and imagination. I found this dress on my outing, and let me tell you guys, it was pretty hideous at first. It dawned cream sleeves with an added puff detail, I guess to add a slight bit of interest to the shoulders. Any who, I was most intrigued by the kimono-esc detail on the top portion of the dress. It reminded me of one of my favorite movies of all time, “The Last Dragon”. It is a 1980’s movie mixed with a little bit of drama with a lotta bit of comedy and over the top/pretty bad acting. When I randomly blurted, “Who’s the masta!?…..SHO NUFF!”, I knew I had to have it, LOL! I removed the sleeve and molded this versatile vintage dress into my version of SHO NUFF wardrobe.
The neutral color of this dress allows me to play with a number of different accessories and shoes, the possibilities are endless really. However, for this look I wanted to spring it up for my brunch date, so I added this cute neon pink braid belt and a punch of pattern with the snake-skin peep toe. I finally received my summer sunnies in the mail last week and I am in love with them. Please don’t be surprised if you see them in a few, if not all, of my upcoming summer posts.
